Postdoc position in ocean eddy parameter estimation with machine learning (Bremerhaven, Germany)

We are looking for a PhD candidate for a 3-year project titled “Data-based Probabilistic Parameter Estimation for Ocean and Earth System Models”. The project focuses on ocean model development and ocean eddy parameter tuning via machine learning. It is situated at Climate Dynamics section of the Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI) for Polar and Marine Research in Bremerhaven, Germany. The project is a close collaboration between the AWI, the Jacobs University Bremen and the University Bremen as part of the MarDATA Helmholtz School for Marine Data Science.
