The Department of Meteorology at the University of Reading is looking for an enthusiastic and talented postdoctoral scientist who is broadly interested in climate dynamics. One area of particular interest is on the dynamics of the extratropical North Atlantic and the remote links to the Pacific. The post-holder will be afforded a certain freedom to develop and explore research ideas. The post is funded by the Royal Society, fixed term up to 24 months.

The ideal candidate will have: Knowledge of atmosphere/ocean dynamics. An enthusiasm to explore and understand mechanisms of variability within the climate system. Experience in the preparation and publication of scientific publications. Experience in the preparation of scientific presentations. Ability to analyse large datasets in Python, Julia, Matlab or comparable languages.
