Postdoc positions in climate modelling and prediction (Hamburg, Germany)

Subject to the final approval of the Grant Agreement by the funding agency, the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology (MPI-M) and the University of Hamburg (UHH) are seeking to fill two exciting 3.5-year positions for Postdoctoral Research Scientists in Climate Modelling. The goal is to develop and investigate a high-resolution ICON Earth System model for climate research and predictions.

Primary research questions to address are:

• Assessment of the role of an eddy-rich (>10 km) ocean resolution for coupled climate and climate predictions (Position 1)
• Assessment of sub-surface observation informed grid for ocean initialization and climate predictions (Position 2)
