Dr. Franz Philip Tuchen, is establishing a new research group at the Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science, University of Miami, beginning in 2026. The lab is seeking applications for a PhD student position beginning in Fall 2026.
The successful candidate will investigate small-scale processes at the air–sea interface in the equatorial Atlantic, using a combination of oceanographic observations and high-resolution model output. The position offers opportunities for fieldwork, including participation in a sea-going campaign planned for 2027.
Qualifications: Applicants should have a background in physical oceanography, atmospheric science, or a related discipline. Experience with observational data analysis and/or numerical modeling will be advantageous.
