We are pleased to announce a fully funded four-year PhD position in Arctic sea ice-Greenland ice sheet interactions at the Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Research Utrecht (IMAU), Utrecht University, the Netherlands.
IIn this position, the candidate will develop skills in satellite data analysis, climate modelling, and polar climate research. The project will improve our understanding of how changes in the Arctic Last Ice Area north of Greenland affect the northern Greenland Ice Sheet, including impacts on surface melt and mass balance.
This position is part of a Netherlands Polar Program-Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI) collaboration (https://www.nwo.nl/en/news/heading-for-the-high-north-new-research-on-the-changing-arctic ), and the PhD candidate will work in close collaboration with leading scientists at AWI and IMAU.
