There is a vacancy for a PhD position in physical oceanography at the Geophysical Institute, University of Bergen, Norway, and the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research. The position is for a fixed-term period of 3 years and is associated with the national Arctic Ocean 2050 program.

The appointed PhD candidate will investigate the export pathways of freshwater from the Arctic Ocean and their downstream impacts on convection and dense water formation (overturning) in the Nordic Seas and subpolar North Atlantic.
