NOAA/OAR/GOMO is hiring a physical scientist / program manager (https://www.usajobs.gov/job/714619500). As a Physical Scientist, you will perform the following duties.

  • Support the Arctic Research Program (ARP) Director to represent the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) at intra- and inter-agency and international meetings, and provide a supporting role in the Inter-agency Arctic Research Policy Committee (IARPC) observations group. Attend scientific and programmatic meetings nationally or internationally.
  • Write scientific and technical papers and posters, communicating program progress and achievements to a broad audience.
  • Develop, maintain and/or advance the creation of new productive partnerships within and external to NOAA, addressing current research directions, science and simple implementation plans.
  • Contribute to a strategic vision and other planning activities, develop budget documents and presentations to guide program. Support the ARP Director in proposing, defending, and managing the program budget, administering financial awards, developing announcements of opportunities for Grants, and monitoring project performance, and ensuring effective timely and economical accomplishments of program objectives.
